No, I Don’t Want a Drink but Have You Seen My Keys? Navigating ADHD in Sobriety

A talk by Allie K. Campbell Digital Creator Visit site

In this session, I’m going to get into the nitty-gritty of living with ADHD and how we can best navigate the more challenging manifestations of the condition as we walk through our lives as people practicing some form of sobriety/recovery.

Along with sharing my own experiences as someone with severe ADHD (my doctor’s words, not mine 😜) I’ll also dive into the following topics:

  • The link between ADHD & Substance Use/Mis-use/Abuse based on the research currently available to us
  • The most common struggles that people with ADHD come up against and how the benefits of sobriety can be helpful in managing these particular struggles
  • Rectifying the treatment of ADHD within sobriety/recovery, focusing in particular on the use of stimulant medications
  • The science behind play and how incorporating it into our lives is vital for people with ADHD who are practicing some form of sobriety/recovery.
